Beth Hawkins

Librarian

Beth Hawkins is in her third year as our St. Luke’s Librarian. As a lover of nature and the outdoors and as an avid birder, “Ms. Hawk” absolutely loves her space up in the “treetop,” where she can watch the hawks, vultures, herons, and other birds travel and migrate around us. Ms. Hawk received her B.A. in Education from Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX and her M.S. in Library Science from Texas Woman’s University. Before starting at St. Luke’s, she was the Director of St. Boniface Episcopal School and was a doula and childbirth educator. As a graduate of St. George Episcopal School, TMI Episcopal, and as a vestry member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Beth is all in on the Episcopal Identity. She embraces this mission by making our library a welcoming and inclusive environment that houses a diverse collection that not only teaches children about the world around them, but creates a space where students feel represented. In the library, her goal is to guide students to love reading and to find the books that they just can’t put down! She always welcomes parent volunteers to help with shelving books and with running the annual book fair. Her husband, Aaron, works at TMI Episcopal, where her son is a student; and her daughter is attending college in the Northeast. Stop by and see her anytime–parents can check books out, too!
