Sari Weller

2nd Grade Teacher

Sari Weller has taught Second Grade for two years at St. Luke’s and is in her 13th year of teaching in independent schools. Originally from Boston, Mrs. Weller earned her BS from Union College (NY) and MA in Early Childhood Education from Columbia University. Mrs. Weller is an advocate of innovation and discovery, which is why she loves teaching at St. Luke’s. Here, students are empowered to explore their unique interests in a hands-on way, while balance academic rigor and social emotional risk taking. Some of her favorite St. Luke’s memories include project-based learning explorations in Second Grade. Such as the “Wonderland Store” where students integrated knowledge of basic economics to create and maintain a bracelet store to purchase a class pet and donate the remaining proceeds to the charity of the children’s choice, as well as Second Grade’s Declamation: Fractured Fairy Tale Ball, where the children participate in the cherished St. Lukes tradition, while celebrating their own writing and individuality through song and dance with their families. It’s always a great day to be a Second Grade tiger!
