Valerie Vied

Middle School Dean of Students

Valerie Vied holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in Teaching. Certified to teach English Language Arts and Reading for grades 4-12 as well as English as a Second Language, she brings 15 years of experience in education. Her teaching career includes time at an inner-city charter school in San Antonio, a rural high school in Tennessee, and Alamo Heights High School. Now in her fourth year at St. Luke’s Episcopal School, she serves as the Middle School Dean of Students and teaches 8th-grade English.

In addition to her teaching and administrative roles, Ms. Vied wears many hats: volleyball coach, sponsor of NJHS and Student Voice, and yearbook adviser. Inspired by the educators who shaped her own journey, she became a teacher to make a similar impact on her students. She is especially passionate about helping students discover their voices, identities, and passions.

Outside of school, Ms. Vied enjoys a variety of hobbies and activities. She can often be found riding her bike, lifting weights, or playing with her dog. When she’s not staying active, she loves watercoloring, diving into a good book, attending music festivals, or planning her next travel adventure.
